Winter or Summer: Do not close off vents to unused rooms. Home owners might think the could divert the heat or cool air from their HVAC systems back into the busy sections of the room. However, the furnace or air conditioner vent systems are not designed for partial house. It is meant for the whole home cooling and restricting airflow can cause problems such as a coil freeze.
